Pulse Point Surveys: COVID-19 on campus
ACE’s Pulse Point surveys gather the insights of college and university leaders through questions designed to gauge the decisions, issues and challenges they face. The TIAA Institute partnered with ACE on three Pulse Point surveys to assess COVID-19’s current and potential future impact on institutions and their students, faculty, staff and surrounding communities.
In October 2020, in response to our first collaborative survey, nearly 300 presidents identified their most pressing concerns, described their fall reopening plans, and assessed the pandemic’s impact on their institutions’ fall enrollment and financial health.
In February 2021, nearly 350 college and university presidents shared their most pressing concerns about the pandemic, how it has affected their institution’s spring enrollment and financial health, and adaptations they have made to institutional services and support for students.
Listen to Dave Richardson, the TIAA Institute’s managing director of research, and Jon Turk of the American Council on Education discuss college and university presidents’ top concerns as campuses move past the pandemic.
