2019 TIAA Paul A. Samuelson Award Ceremony
On January 3, 2020, we will announce the winner of the 2019 TIAA Paul A Samuelson Award For Outstanding Scholarly Writing On Lifelong Financial Security.
The Samuelson Award, named in honor of the Nobel Prize-winning economist and former CREF Trustee, recognizes economic research that promotes Americans’ financial well-being. Since it was first given in 2000, the Samuelson Award has become the premier acknowledgement of excellence in research on financial security.
Last year our independent panel of judges gave the award to David C. Brown, Scott Cederburg and Michael S. O'Doherty for their paper "Tax Uncertainty and Retirement Savings Diversification," published in the Journal of Financial Economics, 2017, Volume 126, Issue 3, 689-712.
The TIAA Institute will present the 2019 Samuelson Award at the annual meeting of the Allied Social Science Associations on January 3, 2020, at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina in San Diego, CA.
